Revealing quantum contextuality using a single measurement device

چکیده
In this paper we analyze the notion of measurement noncontextuality (MNC) and identify contextual scenarios which involve sequential measurements only a single device. We show that any noncontextual ontological model fails to explain statistics outcomes carefully constructed positive-operator-valued measure (POVM) executed sequentially on quantum system. The context arises from different configurations in device can be used. develop an inequality (NC) ontic model, construct situation involving Klyachko-Can-Binicio\ifmmode \check{g}\else \v{g}\fi{}lu-Shumovsky (KCBS) inequality. resultant arising violate our NC This generalized by incorporating arbitrary $n$-cycle contextuality inequalities $n=5$ corresponds KCBS bounds for various derived more easily using functional relationships between larger values $n$. makes it one simpler analyze.

Device-independent quantum secret sharing using Mermin-type contextuality
We present a new quantum secret sharing protocol based on recent advances in Mermin-type contextuality scenarios, which is provably secure against postquantum nonsignaling attackers. It is a fundamental assumption of secret sharing protocols that not all players are trusted parties, and that some may collude amongst themselves and with eavesdroppers to break confidentiality. To this extent, qua...
متن کاملSingle-Photon Quantum Contextuality on a Chip
In classical physics, properties of objects exist independently of the context, i.e., whether and how measurements are performed. Quantum physics showed this assumption to be wrong, and that Nature is indeed "contextual". Contextuality has been observed in the simplest physical systems, such as single particles, and plays fundamental roles in quantum computation advantage. Here, we demonstrate ...
متن کاملProposal for revealing quantum nonlocality via local contextuality.
Two distant systems can exhibit quantum nonlocality even though the correlations between them admit a local model. This nonlocality can be revealed by testing extra correlations between successive measurements on one of the systems which do not admit a noncontextual model whatever the reduced state of this system is. This shows that quantum contextuality plays a fundamental role in quantum nonl...
متن کاملState-independent quantum contextuality with single photons.
We present an experimental state-independent violation of an inequality for noncontextual theories on single particles. We show that 20 different single-photon states violate an inequality which involves correlations between results of sequential compatible measurements by at least 419 standard deviations. Our results show that, for any physical system, even for a single system, and independent...
متن کامل“Haunted” quantum contextuality
Two entangled particles in threedimensional Hilbert space (per particle) are considered in an EPR-type arrangement. On each side the Kochen-Specker observables {J 1 , J 2 2 , J 2 3 } and {J̄ 2 1 , J̄ 2 2 , J 2 3 } with [J 2 1 , J̄ 2 1 ] 6= 0 are measured. The outcomes of measurements of J 3 (via J 2 1 , J 2 2 ) and J 2 3 (via J̄ 1 , J̄ 2 2 ) are compared. We investigate the possibility that, althoug...
